APPROACH

Schmit+Associates has partnered with the City of Auburn Downtown Development Authority to transform 30 acres of property in the downtown district into the city’s new town center. S+A partners and public officials are working together to align the goals of the city with the opportunities presented by the site.

The site will extend the current boundaries of the downtown area. The City has invested in civic infrastructure including a new city hall and other uses that create pedestrian vibrancy in the downtown district. A private investment initiative will develop the surrounding residential community.

ROLE

Schmit+Associates is serving as Master Developer of the downtown district, as well as owner’s representative for the construction of the new city hall. The roll includes guiding the research, planning, architectural, engineering, communication, finance and construction professionals connected to the project.
